Accident at the Total Petrochemicals Plant in Gonfreville, France

Regrettably, three people have been injured, with one requiring hospitalization, following an accident that occurred at 9:14 a.m. this morning at the Total Petrochemicals plant in Gonfreville, France. Eight other people are in a state of shock.

For reasons as yet unexplained, an empty sulfuric acid tank overturned during repairs. There is no risk of contamination.

Updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
