Albemarle to Increase Prices of SAYTEX Brominated Flame Retardants

Albemarle Corporation (NYSE:ALB) , a leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of flame retardants, announced today that it will increase prices of SAYTEX® flame retardants on shipments beginning October 1, 2010, or as contracts allow in regions listed at the following rates:
-- SAYTEX® CP2000 (tetrabromo bisphenol A) by $0.40/kg globally
-- SAYTEX® 102E (decabromodiphenyl oxide) by $1.00/kg globally
-- SAYTEX® 8010 (decabromodiphenyl ethane) by $0.60/kg in EMEA and
Americas
Albemarle's brominated flame retardants are part of the company's fire safety solutions within the polymer solutions business segment.
