Thursday, Jul 02, 2009

Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, has awarded a contract to Gulftainer to provide on-site logistics services at its polyolefins plant located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, over the next five years.

The services will include bagging and packaging, container yard operations as well as maintenance of associated equipment and vehicles.

“Being an efficient and reliable supplier to our customers is a priority for us”, explains Abdulaziz Alhajri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Polymers company (Borouge). “With additional polyolefins capacity coming on stream in mid-2010 and the start up of our logistics hubs in Singapore, and Shanghai and Guangzhou in China, it is important that we optimise our supply chain operations also in Abu Dhabi to ensure we are a long-term reliable partner for our customers throughout the Middle East and Asia.”

“Gulftainer is committed to leveraging its service excellence and professionalism to meet Borouge’s logistical needs,” says Peter Richards, Director and General Manager of Gulftainer. “In addition, this agreement is a positive step in our strategy for growth in the region.”
