Chiyoda awarded EPC contract for the TAU by Taiyo Oil

Tuesday, Jan 29, 2013

Chiyoda Corporation ("Chiyoda") (TSE: 6366; ISIN: JP3528600004), Japan’s leading engineering and construction firm, today announces that it has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Taiyo Oil Co., Ltd.("Taiyo Oil") for the TransAlkylation Unit (TAU).

This EPC contract follows on from the EPC work for the RFCC* unit completed in 2010 at Shikoku Operations. Our engineering solutions and expertise were highly evaluated again to win this EPC contract. TAU will be capable of annual production of 300,000 tons on an MX (mixed xylene) base. This results in total annual production of 700,000 tons when combined with existing capacity. Chiyoda will execute the project cooperating with its group companies, Chiyoda Kosho Co., Ltd. and Chiyoda System Technologies Corporation.
