Coretrax expands its services with launch of chemical products

Tuesday, Jun 26, 2012

Aberdeen-based oilfield services firm, Coretrax Technology Limited has expanded its range of services and products with the launch of its wellbore chemical division. Coretrax has appointed Stewart Maxwell to head the division and aims to add further recruits in 2012.

The chemical technologies works alongside the firm’s award winning range of wellbore clean-up tools to remove debris impacting on wellbore productivity. The technology will reduce risk, enhance productivity and ensure successful completion operations for Coretrax clients. The primary cleaning chemicals are approved to gold environmental standard under the Offshore Chemical Notification Scheme.

Mr Maxwell is appointed as a Senior Applications Engineer. His appointment follows on from successful internationalisation for the company as it recently secured agents throughout the Middle East in Bahrain, Iraq and Saudi.

John Fraser, global business development manager, Coretrax, said: “We have had significant growth due to our successful wellbore clean-up products and services and the launch of this new division is a natural step from client and industry demand. Oil and Gas operators recognise the importance of a debris free wellbore and alongside our mechanical wellbore clean-up system the new chemical division enables Coretrax to offer the complete mechanical and hydraulic wellbore-cleanup solution.

“Our innovative approach has also led to successful projects globally and we are delighted to secure agents in regions that have significant growth opportunities for Coretrax. We will continue to expand both internationally in the Middle East, Africa and Asia and in the North Sea with on-going recruitment and new premises later this year.”

Formed in 2008, the team in Aberdeen recently expanded to 12 and plans to recruit a further 6-9 staff this year. The company won the prestigious ‘new idea’ category of SPE’s Offshore Achievement Awards this year.

Coretrax specialises in innovative oilfield services to the completion, cementing, abandonment and wellbore clean up sectors both in the North Sea and globally.
