ICIS Pricing Launches Weekly Polypropylene Europe Margin Report

Wednesday, Mar 10, 2010

ICIS pricing, the world's leading price reporting service for the global chemical industry, has launched a new European Polypropylene Margin report. The weekly Margin report assesses producer cash costs and margins by modelling raw material and key variable costs, co-product credits and product yields across the business, from naphtha and PDH feedstock, through to propylene and polypropylene.

It has been reported recently in an ICIS pricing Europe Polypropylene report, that demand for polypropylene will improve from the beginning of the year. Producers are optimistic about an increase of volumes but supply will be restricted and some producers are looking to increase prices to recover lost margin on propylene purchases.

The new European Polypropylene Margin report will give market players, including sellers, buyers and traders, a clear indication of the direction of business cash costs and cash margins to make informed decisions on market positioning.

The weekly margin reports are designed to complement ICIS's highly regarded benchmark pricing data which are used with feedstock yield models from Linde Engineering.

The concise 2-page margin report includes charts, tables and bullet-point summaries, giving a clear indication of both short-term and long-term trends.

"With the launch of the margin reports, ICIS pricing continues to provide industry players with timely, concise, accurate yet comprehensive market intelligence," said Paul Ray, Head of Data & Analytics, ICIS. "We are excited to launch a service that will help industry players compete globally and give them clarity of real impact of volatile feedstocks such as propylene."

The launch of the European Polypropylene Margin report builds on the success of existing Asian and European Ethylene and Polyethylene Margin reports.

ICIS publishes trusted pricing information and analyses the factors driving the chemical industry. ICIS weekly polypropylene pricing reports are widely used for benchmarking and market intelligence, to underpin commercial contracts and to support key business decisions.
