Multi-million dollar maintenance contract win for PSN in Australia

PSN has confirmed the signing of a multi-million dollar (USD), three year contract with Caltex Australia Ltd for the delivery of integrated maintenance services.

Under the contract, PSN will provide maintenance management, mechanical and support services for Caltex at its two Australian refineries - Kurnell in Sydney and Lytton in Brisbane.

Effective from today (June 1, 2010) the contract includes options for two one year extensions.

Matt Gavin, PSN General Manager for Australia said:

We were able to demonstrate a track record for delivering maintenance and engineering service contracts that integrate technical support and engineering expertise. Under this new contract we will implement our proven and innovative tools and processes to deliver continuous business improvement.

“The contract is a significant milestone for PSN and augments our position as a leading service provider to the refining industry in Australia. It is the first time we have been awarded a contract from Caltex and we look forward to building a strong working relationship and delivering effective, efficient and safe operations in line with Caltex’s vision and our core values."

Gary Smith, General Manager of Refining at Caltex said: “I am pleased to announce that PSN has been selected as the successful integrated services contractor for the Caltex refining business. We are confident PSN will be able to assist Caltex to drive improvements in our maintenance and reliability performance.”

PSN’s Australian operations form the company’s largest international business unit. In Australia, PSN focuses on providing engineering, construction, operations and maintenance services to the upstream and downstream oil, gas, water and refining industries. With more than 1,000 personnel, PSN is now the largest contractor servicing the hydrocarbon market on the Australian east coast.

Caltex is Australia's leading oil refiner. Combined production at Caltex's Kurnell refinery in Sydney and Lytton refinery in Brisbane comprises approximately 50 percent petrol, 30 percent diesel and 15 percent jet fuel. The remainder of the production consists of fuel oil, waxes and lubricants, bitumen, sulphur, LPG and other gasses.
